I am very happy with the amount of things that I have learned and experienced...
“Hello, I am Niru Adhikari a BPH 4th year student of Manmohan Memorial Institute of Health sciences. As per University Curriculum, all the students from BPH 4th year have to complete Comprehensive Public Health Practicum (CPHP) in organizations working on public health. Therefore, I decided to join Health Foundation Nepal (HFN) to complete my CPHP. I worked in Health Foundation Nepal as an intern for three and half months. It was my first time working in an organization, so I had plenty of learning opportunities. Health foundation Nepal has good work culture and strong core values. During my work at Health Foundation Nepal, I experienced and learned many different sides of health projects planning, developed and implementation; I understood how much work and detail goes into every stage of project execution. The work environment on HFN was friendly and team members were always willing to help me if I had any question. While working on a project, the team was very open to any suggestions and ideas. I quickly felt i was also part of the team felt very comfortable. During my internship at HFN I got to meet awesome people and got to learn technical and programmatic aspects of working in a not for profit organization. Overall, my work experience at HFN is positive. I am very happy with the amount of things that I have learned and experienced in the three and half months of internship in HFN.”

I am proud to work with a team that provides social justice to community people through public health services...
“In search of health organizations for 'Comprehensive Public Health Practicum' to meet the course objectives of Bachelors of Public Health, we reached Health Foundation Nepal, Sanepa, Lalitpur. The first entry to HFN was very generous and welcoming by Bikash Silwal, Admin and Finance Officer, HFN. A down to earth personality Madan Raj Bhatta, ED of HFN and our supervisor for CPHP provided us supportive learning environment throughout our stay in HFN for three and half months as interns.
From our participation in meetings with INGOs, participation in several official tasks, field activities, involvement in meetings with HFN America, to birthday celebrations, I had a very fruitful stay in HFN. Moreover, among major events of my life, HFN has been the organization where I started my professional life as a field researcher for Women's Health Project. This special opportunity will always remain in soft corner of my heart. I usually hear harsh comments from a section of public about non-governmental organizations. On our visit to Dang for 'learning project' I realized all those talks were just rumors when I observed HFN Dang team in Jhigni working so hard. They dedicated themselves to work despite of weather challenges ans without taking break for lunch to make NCD Camp very successful. That was the moment when I found myself a proud intern, for working with the team that provides social justice to community people through public health services. I again thank HFN for the time, expertise and efforts that we have been given to shape and create a 21st century public health leader.”

It was a great opportunity...
"It was great opportunity for me to conduct internship in Health Foundation Nepal. I learnt a lot from meeting with people related to mental health working at ministry of health and Population (MoHP) and different hospitals, visiting field in Dang and involving into ongoing programs. The most I was impressed is communicating with beneficiaries and dedicated staff. I could get opportunity to listen directly what difficulties and needs beneficiaries have, and how staffs work and have motivation for involving in programs. Finally, I appreciate all staffs in Kathmandu and Dang office supporting and arranging this internship. "

I got chance to develop professional link and network...
"I got an opportunity to be involved in a participatory planning, collecting and analyzing situation and data to support those programs through different sector health expertise. All the report and field visit opportunity were provided by the organization for the theoretical and practical inputs so that I could participate actively and support those processes. I got an opportunity to contribute on documentation, conduct a field visit to Dang along with International (Japanese) Intern and participate in national level meetings with mental health experts and managers along with HFN ED –Madan Raj Bhatt and international intern – Miki Kuwabara. There was enough opportunity for me to get involved into the plan formulation and make it technically sound with me as health expertise. The professional link has been developed and network has been broadened at HFN. I really appreciate the organization’s friendly and motivating environment to learn and work."
