Gorakh Thapa, PCL, Health Assistant, Health Foundation Nepal, Dang
HFN has a long term vision to provide quality health care in needy communities. NCD project is one of the best research project being implemented effectively and efficiently in different communities of Dang district. This is very helpful to control NCDs among the villagers and among the people who cannot afford a good health care. I feel great to work at community and with all HFN staff and members and it’s an opportunity for me. We are doing great job not only in NCDs but also in nutrition and mental health. We are also running static clinic which plays a significant role to provide health care to needy villagers. I think NCD project will take further momentum in future and my sincere thanks to all staff, local community members and volunteers for their hard work and contribution to NCD project.

NCD program is being implemented very smoothly, effectively and efficiently. People in rural areas are getting health benefits and services related to NCDs, Nutrition and Mental Health. All the people residing in project areas have equally benefited from quality health care services from Health Foundation Nepal. I feel honored to have this opportunity to work as an active team member of NCD project. This is a golden opportunity for a young public health professional like me to work with the national and international medical and public health experts. NCD program is very helpful to advance my health research skills and gaining first hand experiences from rural communities, which is a fundamental prerequisite for my future career. I hope all the HFN projects including NCD will take new heights in future.

I feel honored to be a part of Health Foundation Nepal. I worked as a Medical Director-Outreach Health Clinic for 2 years in Dang. Clinic hours, mental health project, non-communicable disease research and malnutrition project were among the various activities I was involved in. Working under different projects being supervised directly by the physicians in United States, I learnt a lot about research. Besides regular free-clinic hours, hospitable interaction with the locals of Jajaragaun is so much memorable.
These two years have not just been an experience; but a real opportunity for me. I would like to thank the whole Health Foundation Nepal team in Nepal and United States for this opportunity. And, I feel so much happy that the projects are being successfully implemented and I feel proud to be a part of this. I wish I could contribute more through this organization.

I feel very pleased and honored to work in the post of Medical Director - Community Health Clinic in Health Foundation Nepal (HFN) for 2 yrs. I got many opportunities and entertained the various innovative ideas of the entire HFN team in the sector of public health, medical research and rural health camps all dedicated towards the betterment of the health status of rural community people of Nepal. As part of my regular job, providing free health checkups and medicines to the needy people of the community enhanced my positive attitude towards the social services, helped to know the impact of deeply rooted non-communicable diseases among the people of rural Nepal. Apart from regular clinics, I got the golden opportunity to be involved in medical research activities in the sector of Non-Communicable Diseases, Malnutrition and Mental health status among the rural people which provided the sparkling touch to my entire medical career. Working under the direct supervision of various specialists and receiving direct feedbacks and updating myself has created the priceless milestone in my medical journey. During these 2 years in HFN, I felt the strength of inner love and responsibilities of all the Nepali Doctors in US whose dedication towards the improvement of overall health status of Nepal as simply incomparable. I wish I could contribute more through HFN and stay connected with this organization in the future.
